MPhil in Criminology, University of Cambridge (Royal Thai Government Scholarship)

As a penologist at Thailand’s Department of Corrections who experiences first-hand the issues within Thailand’s criminal justice system, a Top 20 Miss Universe who constantly advocates for the appropriate treatment and rehabilitation programmes for female prisoners, a former Royal Thai Government scholarship recipient with a degree in criminology whose research interest is in the field of the lives of pregnant women and mothers of babies in prison, I have always stay motivated to further my understandings of the criminal justice system in order to develop an awareness of the contextual nature of policymaking in the national and international platforms and take appropriate steps to influence Thailand’s penal policies.

To follow such aspiration, I have decided to enrol in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in criminology and criminal justice programme at Chulalongkorn University, which is nationally and globally renowned and highly productive in terms of its academic research, national and international collaborations with public and private agencies and non-governmental organisations, and success in advocating for evidence-based practices in government policies.

I truly believe enroling in the programme will be the next necessary step towards achieving my academic and professional goals in conducting research and becoming a major figure in Thailand’s Department of Corrections who makes an impact on the lives of female prisoners and criminal justice system.
